By India Today Sports Desk: Rohit Sharma survived twice in the first over of the Indore Test as Australia missed two opportunities of dismissing the in-form Indian captain for a duck on Mitchell Starc’s bowling.

What a start for Australia! Starc got Rohit to nick the first delivery of the match to wicketkeeper Alex Carey. The Australian players were up in appeal for the catch but umpire Nitin Menon gave it a not-out. Starc, Carey and Steve Smith came together for a small discussion and then decided to not take the review. Later, the UltraEdge technology showed that the ball had in fact taken the outside edge.
Two balls later, Starc got the ball to come back in and hit the pads and there was an appeal for LBW and the appeal was again turned down. Australia again decided not to take the review but the tracker showed that the ball was hitting the stumps. As a result, Rohit survived twice in the first over. Finally, Rohit punished the fifth delivery for a boundary.
However, Rohit failed to make use of the two reprieves as Matthew Kuhnemann got the prized scalp of Indian captain when he was batting for 12 in the sixth over of the Indore Test. Rohit ran down the track and went for the big slog on the leg side, but got beaten by the turn away and Alex Carey did the rest behind the stumps leaving Sharma halfway down the pitch.
