By India Today Web Desk: Indian cricket team touched down in Trivandram to play their final ODI match of the series against Sri Lanka. India have already sealed the series by winning the first two matches in Guwahati and Kolkata and will be playing a dead rubber on Sunday, 15 January. The game will be important for the visitors Sri Lanka, who need to bag the 10 points for their ICC Super League standing, which will decide their entry in the ODI World Cup 2023.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video of the Indian team entering the team hotel. Notably, India head coach Rahul Dravid was not present with the squad and flew back to Bangalore due to health complications from Kolkata.
The Indian side will be looking to make changes in their line-up, especially in the fast bowling department, considering the unavailability of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the first two matches of the Australian Test series. The India bowlers would need rest given the importance of the World Test Championship matches.
India on Friday, also announced the squads for New Zealand ODI and T20I series as well as the first two matches of the Test series against Australia. Prithvi Shaw has returned to the Indian side in the T20I format, while Ishan Kishan has been called up in the Test team for the first time in his career.
